Blitzkrieg - ED art

Well, I play a small sim game called Equus Dream [link] and on that game I have a boarding stable and several horses, and I got the itching today to draw one of my horses.

I picked a 6 year old Holsteiner stallion named Blitzkrieg. He is a simply beautiful blood bay with his only markings being two white socks on the hind legs. He stands 17hh high and is currently trained in the dicipline of Show Jumping. He'll soon become one of my top stallions.

I really love how this drawing came out. It's kinda a different style for me, more sketchy and loose. I like it. I used no reference for this at all (well, cept a pick of a bay horse I pulled up for color ref), so I am extremely proud of this!! The only thing I'll change of this would be that I'd like to see more extension in that far hind leg. It just doesn't seem like he has that reach needed for the big bold canter I was aiming for. Maybe I'll go back and mess with it again some day. But for now, I'm leaving it as is.

Oh, and if you are wondering why the BG is blue, it's because the background for the website where this horse's page is on is that color blue!
