Picture taked at Fort Garland, CO
Memorial Day Weekend Reenactment
Every year the troopers of the Old Fort Griffen Memorial Regiment show up at Fort Garland for the annual Living History/Reenactment. This year we decided to do a Mounted Cavalry Competition at the same time, and it turned out to be a huge hit. This picture (and all the rest like it) where taken on the second day during the Cavalry Course. The course consists of a dismounted carbine target, several mounted pistol targets (no, not shooting live amo here, just blanks at ballons), and then many saber targets with a few jumps thrown in along the way.
Here most of the contestants are awaiting their turn on the Cav Course, and at one point they where lined up perfectly and I couldn't resist the shot. My only regrets about this picture is that the sky got washed out and I cut off the head of the horse at the far end. Also I wish that there wasn't a modern horse trailer and telephone poles in the background. But nonetheless, it is one of my more favorite pictures.
Originally taken in color, black and white and then green + red tones added in photoshop elements.

Love this pic!!! How did I never see this one before? Do you still have the original? Haha, Dragon's biting Cody, that's great!
