Nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains, High Mountain is home to a picturesque view. To the
west the towering rockies with Longs Peak the dominant sight, often snow capped and wind blown,
it's a powerful and awe inspiring sight. To the east the vastness of the prairie, the open plains
that so many settlers traversed across. Settled in amongst the low lying hills that mark the
meeting of flat land and high country is our farm. Here we have access to some of the best land
for conditioning and riding. Large open grassy fields dotted by Pine trees and Aspens, green in
the summer and snowy white in the winter. The ground is the perfect firmness for riding, the
terrain questions provide for excellent training. The summers are often dry and enjoyable.
Afternoon thunderstorms provide a welcomed respite from the intense high altitude sun.
Our sport is Eventing. Our breeding mission is to produce a top quality sport horse capable of
competing to the highest level. And on top of that, we want color. We specialize in Thoroughbreds
and thoroughbred crosses that not only have the conformation, stamina, heart, and mind for
eventing, but also the color to stand out among the vast numbers of solid horses. We breed for two
genetic traits, the overo pattern known as sabino, and the dilution know as the creme gene. The
gene which is responsible for all those beautiful palomino, buckskin, cremello, perlino, and
smokey black horses.
That being said, we open our barn and welcome you to our home, kick back and enjoy the view from
the patio with a cold glass of lemonade or take a gallop through our fields.

Ok ok so I can draw again! That means... HARPG ponies! Gah I need to organize and expand on this
journal... I'm just making a new one for now. I'm really tempted to either just convert my entire
farm over to racing... or split it, two barns, one racing stock, the other eventing stock. I love
both sports aaaannnnd ARG CAN'T DECIDE!! D:
That said, finally going to get some breedings in! Vanity Fair and Bringdowntherain are both
getting bred to Snowbird to start things off 8D Make a Marq... hmmm, not entirely sure what to do
with her yet.
I really really really need to come up with stores for all these horses. But, *le sigh* I do not
have the time. Soooo ya'll are just going to have to come up with your own, maybe when school is
over I'll get to it? We'll see...
Oh yes, and another stallion is coming soon, plus Snowbird is getting revamped, drew him before I
properly knew how DW expressed... sooo he's getting his markings redone YEY
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Name: Snowbird
Image: [link]
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Thoroughbred
Age: 10 years
Bloodline: Foundation bred of purebred jockey club lines. (Puchilingui decedent--from which
his color cometh)
Height: 16.2
Coloration and markings: A rich darker bay with a golden undertone. The dark points are
very pronounced. Loudly expressed yet very crisp sabino type coloration (caused by Dominant White
gene) with knee high stocks in front and tall pointed stockings to the stife behind. Large belly
spot in front of hind legs. No flecking or other white body markings. White on the head is
excessive, entire muzzle white, white reaches up under jaw all the way to the throat latch.
Genetics: EE, Aa, Ww
Passable traits: Guaranteed black base to all foals. 50/50 chance of passing agouti. Is het
for Dominant White, however since it is believed that DW "attaches" itself to a certain color
base, in this case black, we feel certain that any foal of his will show sabino like markings
characteristic of the Dominant White gene.
Personality: (coming soon!)
Discipline: Eventing
Accomplishments: (coming soon!)
History: A new york bred horse, he was bred for the track. He started his race career at
Aqueduct. A late bloomer, he raced quite successfully his three year old year and had started once
as a 4 year old when his owners made the decision to get out of horses. Instead of selling their
immensely talented colt to another racing farm they sent him to us to begin a second career as an
eventer. He has now been with us six years and has become quite the experienced eventer. He has a
forever home with us and we look forward now to what his babies can do.
Offspring: Hedwig, Snow Visions
For stud: To approved mares only. Please contact idlewild for more information.

Name: Vanity Fair
Image: [link]
Gender: Mare
Breed: Thoroughbred
Age: 6 years
Bloodline: Foundation bred of purebred jockey club lines. (Milkie decedent)
Height: 16.1
Coloration and markings: Cremello coloration, no white markings.
Genetics: ee, aa, CcrCcr
Passable traits: Guaranteed Creme gene. Will produce either a buckskin, palomino, or smokey
black when bred to a non dilute horse. Also will always pass on a red gene, and does not have
agouti.
Personality: (coming soon!)
Discipline: Eventing
Accomplishments: (coming soon!)
History: Vanity came to us after a psuedo career on the track, her habit of jumping over
every shadow, ditch, and pole she could find led her trainer to believe she would have a better
career jumping real jumps instead of racing. She was never started when we bought her as a coming
3 year old. Her old trainer's intuition proved correct, this mare can jump the moon.
Offspring: <a href=\"http://hazel-rah.deviantart.com/art/The-Makings-of-a-Champion-
120464754">Gold Bullet
For lease: For private breedings only. Please contact idlewild if you are interested in a
foal out of her.
Name: Bringdowntherain
Image: [link]
Gender: Mare
Breed: Thoroughbred
Age: 5 years
Bloodline: Foundation bred of purebred jockey club lines.
Height: 16
Coloration and markings: Chestnut with sabino and rabicano markings, lots of roaning and
coon tail, white on legs to knees and hocks, blaze
Genetics: ee, AA, Sb-, Rb-
Passable traits: Will always pass red and agouti. Unsure as to het or homo status of sabino
and rabicano, but there is at least a 50% chance of passing each coloration on.
Personality: Very much a redhed, she's hot and temperamental, but with a drive to win. She
will try her heart out for you to a fault, but she's got to like you. Get her mad and she'll let
you know in no uncertain terms.
Discipline: Eventing
Accomplishments: (coming soon!)
History: A kentucky bred mare, she raced for a year at Churchill Downs, winning a few races
including a GIII distaff. A hairline fracture forced her retirement from the track. We bought her
as a project and after over a year of rest she was brought back into work and training.
Offspring: none
For lease: For private breedings only. Please contact idlewild if you are interested in a
foal out of her.

All HARPG rules are to be followed. Period.
Seeing as this is a realistic farm, we will only accept realistic mares. We care about quality in
our breeding program, so only mares that we feel will benefit our program will be accepted for
breedings. To breed to our stallion(s), the mare must be a suitable breed and of course, a
realistic color. A mare we would accept for example would be a chestnut thoroughbred, or a bay
holsteiner. If the resulting foal could realisticly go on to become competitive in the horse world
we will consider the breeding. If it would not... well, then don't even think about it.
Also of important mention is color. Since we breed for color we have tested our horses, we know
their genetics and thus we know what they can pass on and what the probability of them passing
those traits on is. Please discuss with us the color options for your foal before you go making a
chestnut foal by a stallion that will only pass on a black gene..... it just can't happen.
To request a breeding please DevNote idlewild with the appropriate mare information. You MUST
INCLUDE A PICTURE! We do not have the time or desire to go tracking down an image of your mare,
please include it. If you do not we will not accept the breeding, plain and simple. Please state
which stallion you are interested in breeding to and why you want a foal by him.
The mare owner will then follow standard procedure for drawing the mating and foaling artwork
pieces. Please sent us a note when the foal is born! We'd love to see it and to be able to add it
to our records.

Thank you for taking the time to visit HMF! We do appreciate that you spent the time to stop by
and see what we have to offer. Please check back at any time as we plan to be constantly adding to
and expanding our herd. Have a wonderful day!
